Micronutrient Fertilizer

Micronutrients are essential elements required in small quantities for proper plant growth and development. They improve enzyme activity, nutrient balance, and crop quality. With precise formulation and application, micronutrients enhance plant health, increase yield, and support efficient and sustainable agricultural productivity.

Description

Micronutrient Fertilizer Supplier — Zinc, Iron, Boron, Manganese & Multi-Micronutrient Blends for Balanced Crop Nutrition

While nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium receive the majority of attention in fertilizer discussions, micronutrients — zinc, iron, boron, manganese, copper, molybdenum, and chlorine — are equally essential for crop health, albeit in much smaller quantities. These trace elements function as enzyme co-factors, electron carriers, and structural components in critical metabolic pathways including photosynthesis, nitrogen fixation, protein synthesis, and hormone regulation. Deficiency of even a single micronutrient can severely limit crop yield and quality, regardless of how adequately NPK is supplied — a phenomenon agronomists describe as the Law of the Minimum. Indian soils are increasingly characterized by widespread micronutrient deficiencies, with zinc deficiency affecting over 40% of cultivated soils, iron deficiency prevalent in calcareous soils of Rajasthan and Haryana, and boron deficiency emerging as a serious constraint in oilseed and pulse crops across central India. Davar ChemTech supplies individual micronutrient salts (zinc sulphate, ferrous sulphate, borax, manganese sulphate, copper sulphate) as well as custom multi-micronutrient blends in chelated, sulphate, and oxide forms to address specific crop and soil requirements.

Industrial Applications

Industry Reason for Use
Horticulture & Fruit Crops Zinc for fruit set and size, boron for pollen viability and fruit retention, iron for chlorosis correction in citrus and grapes
Soil Deficiency Correction Targeted application of deficient micronutrients based on soil testing — zinc sulphate for Zn-deficient soils, ferrous sulphate for Fe-deficient calcareous soils
Foliar Spray Programs Chelated micronutrient foliar sprays for rapid mid-season correction of deficiency symptoms and yield-quality enhancement
Hydroponic & Soilless Culture Complete micronutrient solutions for nutrient film technique (NFT), deep water culture (DWC), and coco-peat based growing systems

In Indian horticulture, zinc deficiency is the single most widespread micronutrient constraint, causing characteristic ‘little leaf’ symptoms, reduced internode elongation, and poor fruit set in citrus, mango, banana, and grape crops. Soil application of zinc sulphate heptahydrate (21% Zn) at 25–50 kg/ha is the standard correction method, while foliar sprays of zinc sulphate (0.5% solution) provide rapid mid-season correction when deficiency symptoms appear. Boron is particularly critical for oilseed crops — boron deficiency in mustard and groundnut causes flower sterility, reduced pod set, and hollow heart in groundnut kernels. Application rates of 1–2 kg B/ha as borax or boric acid have been shown to increase mustard seed yield by 15–25% in boron-deficient soils. Iron deficiency chlorosis — characterized by interveinal yellowing of young leaves — is widespread on calcareous soils (pH > 7.5) where iron is precipitated as insoluble ferric hydroxide. Chelated iron (EDTA-Fe or DTPA-Fe) applied through fertigation or as foliar spray is the most effective correction method, as the chelate prevents precipitation and maintains iron in plant-available form. For hydroponic and soilless growing systems, a complete micronutrient solution containing all seven essential trace elements at precisely calibrated concentrations is a non-negotiable input — deficiency or excess of any single element can rapidly disrupt nutrient uptake balance and trigger cascading deficiency symptoms across the entire crop.

Storage, Handling & Safety

Micronutrient fertilizers are generally low-toxicity materials, but specific precautions apply to individual products. Copper sulphate and zinc sulphate powders can cause skin and eye irritation — wear gloves and safety goggles during handling. Borax is mildly toxic if ingested — keep out of reach of children and animals, and wash hands after handling. Iron sulphate is acidic in solution and can stain surfaces and clothing — handle with care and avoid contact with aluminium fixtures. Chelated micronutrient solutions are generally safer to handle but should still be stored in original containers away from food and animal feed. During foliar spray application, wear a dust mask to avoid inhalation of spray mist. Store all micronutrients in a dry place — many sulphate salts are hygroscopic and will absorb moisture, leading to caking and reduced solubility. Keep different micronutrient products separated in storage to prevent cross-contamination. Dispose of empty containers as per local waste regulations.

Supply Capability & Distribution Strength

Davar ChemTech supplies micronutrients across India’s agricultural landscape from our Vadodara distribution center. Our product range covers individual micronutrient salts (zinc sulphate, ferrous sulphate, borax, manganese sulphate, copper sulphate), EDTA/DTPA chelated micronutrients, and custom-blended multi-micronutrient formulations tailored to specific crops and soil types. We serve horticulture farmers in Maharashtra’s Nashik and Pune belts, grape growers in Karnataka, fruit growers in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, oilseed farmers in Rajasthan and MP, and hydroponic greenhouse operators across southern India. Small-pack availability (1 kg, 5 kg) caters to individual farmers and foliar spray programs, while bulk packaging (25 kg, 50 kg bags) serves agri-input distributors and large farming operations. Standard delivery within 3–5 working days for Gujarat and Maharashtra; 5–8 working days for other regions.
